New partnership targets 5G private mobile networks market

Ericsson announced on Tuesday it has completed an automated upgrade of Vodafone Oman’s core network applications and cloud infrastructure, which will enable the telco to deploy standalone (SA) 5G services.

Ukrainian telco Kyivstar announced on Wednesday it’s launching voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) services for eligible subscribers, enabling them to make calls via Wi-Fi access points in locations with weak mobile signals.

Indian state-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) reportedly soft-launched a 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) offering in Hyderabad and other select cities on Wednesday.
