NIGCOMSAT and OneWeb partner for LEO connectivity in Nigeria

Private equity firm EQT has announced that its EQT Infrastructure VI fund has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire a majority stake in the ground station infrastructure business of Eutelsat Group, a global leader in satellite communications.

The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) is reportedly demanding a full review of Starlink’s operations in the country after the LEO satellite operator jacked up its prices without regulatory approval.

Satellite operator Eutelsat has officially launched its Eutelsat OneWeb earth station in Angola, which it says brings OneWeb’s LEO satellite offering online for Angola and Central Africa.
