Turkcell and Huawei Reach World’s First 2.4Tbps Field Trial Milestone on a Transmission Network

Telecom Italia’s international arm Sparkle said on Wednesday it has signed a deal to provide international capacity services to state-owned telco Telecom Namibia via Google’s Equiano subsea cable.

Papua New Guinea’s state-owned wholesale operator PNG DataCo says that it has completed an upgrade of its internet gateway with a 100-Gbps link that enables it to migrate traffic onto the PIPE Pacific Cable 1 (PPC-1) subsea cable.

Operators have reported connectivity disruption across Africa after multiple subsea cables had been reported to be damaged off the coast in West Africa.
