Indian startup Amantya Technologies has won funding under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme of the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) to develop a Made in India 5G standalone (SA) core for public and enterprise deployments.
Indonesian telecom solutions provider Solusi Sinergi Digital (Surge) and Nokia revealed on Friday they have officially signed a multi-year partnership deal to deploy Surge’s 5G FWA network in Java, Papua, and Maluku.
Telecom operator MTN Benin officially launched the country’s first commercial 5G network on Friday, with initial services available in select areas of the port city of Cotonou and Abomey-Calavi.
MTN South Sudan has launched service in Abuyong Payam in Lakes State courtesy of the government’s universal service and access fund (USAF), although state officials said the network’s coverage is too limited and needs to be expanded soon.
