Finland is an interesting market when it comes to the world of modern European commercial aviation for a number of reasons. While the bulk of the country’s air traffic is concentrated through Helsinki Vantaa Airport (HEL) in the capital city, it is also a large enough nation to have a reasonable domestic market. Helsinki has also served as a connecting hub for passengers traveling to Asia with flag carrier Finnair.
