Meta has announced it is partnering with Brazilian neutral network, digital infrastructure and data centre group V.tal to establish a new cable landing point for Meta’s Malbec subsea cable in Porto Alegre.

The PEACE subsea cable cut in the Red Sea, reported by a number of news outlets early last week, could be a long-term issue, with repairs taking months.

Saudi Arabian telco Mobily and Telecom Egypt announced on Monday that they have signed a cooperation deal to land the first subsea cable directly linking Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
