Given its recent troubles, the Moody’s Ratings downgrade of operator Telefonica del Peru’s Corporate Family Rating (CFR) and senior unsecured rating to Caa1 from B2 is not great news.
The parent companies of Indonesian telcos XL Axiata and Smartfren have reportedly asked permission from telecoms regulator KemKominfo to carry out a long-planned merger of the two companies – and seem likely to get it.
Indonesian telco XL Axiata and Nokia say that they have successfully completed a five-year project to modernise around 4,400 of XL Axiata’s existing sites in Central Java, to include 5G deployments in four cities.
