TCC and Digicel Tonga launch commercial 5G

As the telecoms industry hurtles towards the digital world, demand is already growing for emerging bandwidth-intensive applications and services such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Cellular network infrastructure provider Baicells announced it has signed a partnership agreement with Indonesian telco Smartfren Telecom to supply 4G and 5G network solutions for private networks in Indonesia.

The Indian wireless network megadeals keep on coming. The latest, involving tech giant Ericsson, is a multi-billion dollar contract for 5G equipment which it will supply to Indian operator Bharti Airtel.
