Chile-Antarctica cable feasibility study: the next steps

Chilean regulator Subtel says it has received four offers to carry out a feasibility study of a project to implement the first submarine fibre optic cable between Chile and Antarctica.

Saudi Arabian telco Etihad Etisalat (a.k.a. Mobily) announced on Tuesday it has successfully landed the Africa-1 subsea cable in Duba, which it says will position the country as a key international data exchange hub.
