Underlining Saudi Arabia’s reputation as the fastest-growing data centre market in the Middle East are no fewer than three data centre-related announcements this week.
Singapore-based data centre park developer Doma Infrastructure Group (DIG) said on Thursday it has formed a joint venture with Thai technology park operator Silicon Tech Park (STP) to boost Thailand’s data centre capacity to gigawatt levels.
Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it will invest US $3 billion in India in cloud and AI infrastructure over the next two years, including new data centres and skills development, as part of a broad initiative to develop the country’s AI ecosystem.
South Korean telco KT Corp reportedly signed a partnership deal on Tuesday with Vietnam’s Viettel Group worth KRW130 billion (US$95 million) to collaborate on developing AI in Vietnam, to include construction of AI data centres.
