Intelsat and AMN help to connect rural Madagascar

Among satellite operator Intelsat’s announcements for MWC 2024 is news of a communications service in Madagascar running in 65 communities, providing first-time connectivity to about 100,000 people.

SES and Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) announced on Tuesday they have successfully upgraded over 200 telecoms sites across Côte d’Ivoire to deliver 2G and 3G mobile data services to over 500,000 people in rural and previously underserved areas.

Orange Côte d’Ivoire has launched “Orange Sat”, a new satellite broadband internet service in partnership with Eutelsat that promises to bring data connectivity to rural “white zones” in the country unserved by 4G and fibre.
