Auckland’s Lonely Elephant Burma Gets Police Escort To Airport For Flight To Forever Home With Friends In Adelaide

New Zealand’s only elephant has departed the country via Auckland Airport en route to her new home in Adelaide, Australia, where she will join a new herd with four other elephants. The 42-year-old Asian elephant, called Burma, had lived in Adelaide for 34 years before flying onboard an Atlas Air Boeing 747 to start a new life in Australia.
