Boeing Celebrates 40 Years Since The 737 Classic’s 1st Flight

Saturday marked the 40th birthday of the Boeing 737 Classic, the second generation of the 737 passenger series. The development of the aircraft first took to the drawing pad in 1979, only to have the 737-300 variant performing its first flight five years later, on February 24, 1984. It was introduced into service with USAir on November 28th of that same year.
