Iraq in talks with foreign companies to operate its first 5G network

Ericsson announced on Monday that Vodafone Egypt has become the first mobile operator to deploy its triple-band radio, which supports both FDD and TDD spectrum, as part of its network modernisation and capacity expansion initiative.

Ericsson said on Friday its Nigerian unit has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian government to establish a framework of cooperation covering 5G technology development, deployment and innovation.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has reportedly opened its long-waited 5G spectrum auction to all players, starting with the 2500-2600 MHz band, with more bands to follow in the coming days.
