The northern aviation winter season is nearly here. On Sunday, October 27, northern carriers will switch to winter schedules based on IATA slot seasons. They will maintain them until Saturday, March 29, 2025, after which their summer plans will take effect.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
