In the United States, some airlines have as many as nine boarding groups, each with its own membership status. United Airlines, on the other hand, previously had 5. However, to cut down as much as 2 minutes while boarding, United decided to introduce a sixth group and make some other changes in its procedure to cut across the complexity.
