Airtel Nigeria says it has successfully set up a satellite dish in Lagos for Eutelsat OneWeb’s LEO satellite broadband service, which it says will be used to bring high-speed internet to remote areas.
Airtel Africa announced on Monday it has signed a deal with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s LEO satellite internet services to customers in all 14 African countries where Airtel operates – at least once Starlink has licences to operate in them.
UAE-based Space42 says it successfully launched its Thuraya 4 (T4) geostationary satellite, which it says will be key for launching new services across Africa, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Telkom Indonesia’s satellite services arm Telkomsat said on Friday that it has signed a cooperation agreement with LEO satellite operator Starlink to offer the latter’s satellite broadband services to enterprises in Indonesia.
