Azercosmos, Azerbaijan’s space agency, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana have announced a new partnership, described as a ‘new milestone in connectivity’, to launch satellite services in Botswana.
Intelsat said on Wednesday it has deployed a dual-satellite connectivity solution for the Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC) that gives the archipelago extra backup international capacity if its only subsea cable link fails.
Cellular operators cannot hope to match the coverage that satellite delivers, but this advantage has long made the technology prohibitively expensive for providing widespread connectivity.
