On Friday, August 9th, 2024, a British Airways flight returned to its departure airport after a smoke alarm went off. Users on social media reported that the alarm was related to smoke in the lower deck. ATC promptly vectored the aircraft back to the airport, where it was met with emergency equipment. However, it landed safely without incident.
