On Friday, August 2, Tailwind Air officially announced that it had grounded its seaplane service. Tailwind Air famously operated a service from New York to Boston but with a unique twist. The charter company used amphibian planes to land directly in the Boston Harbor and at the New York Skyports Seaplane Base (NYS). However, the company was not profitable enough to continue service.
