America Movil, Telefonica partner to buy rival WOM

Digicel’s operators in Fiji and Samoa have followed up their announced plans to roll out 5G with safety assurances to customers in an apparent move to assuage worries over various Internet rumours and conspiracy theories about 5G health risks.

Malaysian telco U Mobile announced on Friday it has appointed CIMB Bank to facilitate and arrange financing of up to MYR4 billion (almost US$940 million) to support the nationwide deployment of its 5G network infrastructure.

Singtel announced it raised SGD950 million (US$711 million) by selling a 0.8% stake in Bharti Airtel to US-based investment firm GQG Partners.
