While waiting for the up Maryvale freight to come through Morwell Darcy Cameron went for a quick walk on the old Briquette Branch Line which hasn\u2019t seen use for some years now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Briquette lines were used for decades to carry coal briquettes from the nearby mines to Melbourne and across Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traffic would especially to sent to Warrnambool and Kyabram and also to the Briquette siding in Footscray and Yarraville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often rakes of GY wagons would run behind the electric L Class Locomotives on their journey from Morwell to Melbourne and Tottenham Yards where the rakes would be broken up and worked to other destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
