Auckland commuters have lambasted the city\u2019s\u00a0\u201cunreliable, stressful and embarrassing\u201d\u00a0public transport network as it remains plagued by delays and cancellations.<\/p>\n
It comes on top of \u201csignificant existing challenges\u201d such as the ongoing bus driver and ferry crew shortages, a spokesperson for Auckland Transport (AT) said.<\/p>\n
Some boats were damaged in last week\u2019s deadly storm and ferry operators are short of 45 crew members. The weather also also scattered debris throughout waterways.<\/p>\n
One West Auckland resident has told the\u00a0*Herald*\u00a0his train to the central city takes almost twice as long as it did two weeks ago, with slips still affecting rail services.<\/p>\n
The recent floods \u201cextensively\u201d damaged Auckland\u2019s rail and road network, the AT spokesperson said, and workers have been clearing slips, fixing roads and rerouting bus services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
