Kazakhstan is planning to modernise over 180 railway stations by 2030. With the investment, the country wants to grow throughput capacity on the railways. It expects a growth in both freight and passenger volumes in the coming years.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Kazakh Railways (KTZ) says that it has been working on agreements and permits with authorities since the start of 2024. In anticipation of the expected growth in volumes, Kazakhstan wants to build the needed capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering the dynamics of growth in demand for passenger and freight transportation, the increase in transit freight traffic, along with the construction of new sections of railways, we plan to develop the throughput and processing capacity of more than 180 railway stations\u201d, KTZ said. \u201cAdditional sidings, dispatching tracks and dispatch ramps will be built, existing tracks will be extended and previously dismantled tracks will be restored.\u201d<\/p>\n
