Poland will start modernising the Pozna\u0144 rail freight bypass this month. The rail line, which is now used primarily for freight, will also be made suitable for passenger traffic. The 325 million euro project involves an additional two million euros in supervision costs, but it should also preclude any traffic stoppages.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>As part of the bypass modernisation, 70 kilometres of tracks will be reconstructed, the traction network will get an upgrade and Poland will install new traffic control devices. The upgrades will allow for higher speeds, up to 120 kilometres per hour.<\/p>\n

The upgrade works will start in the second half of July, according to infrastructure manager PKP PLK. The first section to undergo construction works are the Pozna\u0144 Pi\u0105tkowo – Kiekrz and Zieliniec – Kozieg\u0142owy sections. PKP PLK says that all works have been planned in order to minimise existing traffic on the line.<\/p>\n

The investment will cost Poland over 325 million euros. As part of the investment, PKP PLK is spending 2 million euros for project supervision.<\/p>\n
