A handful more top Democrats on Wednesday questioned Joe Biden\u2019s viability as a presidential candidate \u2014 and while there\u2019s no flood of defections, several are publicly saying time is running out for the president to decide the future of his campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rep.\u00a0Jim Clyburn\u00a0(D-S.C.) said he\u00a0would support a \u201cmini-primary\u201d<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the August convention to decide the nominee if Biden steps aside, while Rep.\u00a0Summer Lee\u00a0(D-Pa.) called Vice President Kamala Harris the \u201cobvious choice\u201d for the top of the ticket if he does. Sen.\u00a0Peter Welch\u00a0(D-Vt.) repeated that the \u201cclock is ticking\u201d for the president to convince voters he can perform unscripted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And later Wednesday, Rep.\u00a0Raul Grijalva\u00a0(D-Ariz.)\u00a0became the second House Democrat<\/a>\u00a0to call for Biden to abandon his bid for a second term following his shaky debate performance last week.
