{"id":78290,"date":"2024-07-03T18:01:51","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T08:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/?p=54036"},"modified":"2024-07-03T18:01:51","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T08:01:51","slug":"ukrainian-railways-to-launch-kyiv-duisburg-connection-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=78290","title":{"rendered":"Ukrainian Railways to launch Kyiv-Duisburg connection this summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ukrainian Railways (UZ) is in talks with Duisport to launch a regular rail connection between the German dry port and the Lisky terminal in Kyiv. \u201cThe first train on the route between the Lisky railway station terminal and the port of Duisburg will depart already this summer\u201d, UZ said in a statement.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-54036\"><\/span>The company said the service would be dedicated to trailers and containers. From Duisburg, it will also be possible for Ukrainian cargo to reach various destinations in Europe but also the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n<p>This project is a consequence of Ukraine\u2019s initiative to be integrated on European railways. Over the first four months of 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/railfreight\/2024\/05\/08\/ukrainian-railways-grows-exports-by-488\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Ukrainian exports via rail<\/a>, most of which goes to Europe, increased by almost 50 per cent.
