Instead of retiring the B-52s, the <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/us-air-force\/\">US Air Force<\/a> plans to keep the old birds flying for many more years. To keep them flying, they are to be re-engined and upgraded. However, according to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gao.gov\/assets\/gao-24-106831.pdf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Government Accountability Office<\/a> (GAO) report, the program will be delayed by another three years.
