{"id":587801,"date":"2026-10-29T22:47:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T11:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/railuk.com\/?p=205488"},"modified":"2026-10-29T22:47:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-29T11:47:00","slug":"emr-apprenticeship-scheme-still-open-apply-now-and-help-shape-tomorrows-railway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=587801","title":{"rendered":"EMR apprenticeship scheme still open: Apply now and help shape tomorrow\u2019s railway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">East Midlands Railway (EMR), operated by Transport UK, is encouraging applications for a pioneering apprenticeship pilot before the window shuts this Sunday, November 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new GBR Rail Foundation Apprenticeships are a new entry route into the rail industry for young people and aim to develop the next generation of railway talent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working with industry partners including DfTO and Network Rail, EMR will pilot the new GBR Rail Foundation Apprenticeship, with the first cohort due to start in January 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme will be open to young people aged 17 to 24, providing the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience alongside structured learning and an introduction to the wide range of careers available across the railway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interested applicants can find all the details on EMR&#8217;s website here: <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk\/vacancy.aspx?ref=2026-RFA\">2026-RFA Rail Foundation Apprenticeship &#8211; Jobs at East Midlands Railway<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the 12-month programme, participants will be supported by EMR to develop skills and knowledge across areas including railway operations, safety and security, customer service, performance, and health, wellbeing and resilience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GBR Rail Foundation Apprenticeships are designed to combine workplace experience with off-the-job learning.
