Italian logistics company FHP Intermodal is on a quest to revive rail freight in the Apulia region, on the country\u2019s southeastern coast. The company is investing \u20ac50 million in the Incoronata terminal and has increased journeys between the terminal and Fiorenzuola d\u2019Arda.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The facility is located southeast of Foggia, one of the main cities in the region and is an important hub for northbound traffic. FHP, which is part of Italy\u2019s largest infrastructure fund manager F2i SGR, will invest \u20ac50 million to install a new track bundle to handle 750-metres trains. In addition, new warehouses covering 12,000 square metres will be built.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe works are scheduled for completion at the end of 2027, but work is underway to ensure the warehouses are ready for use in Spring 2027\u201d, FHP said. The handling of longer convoys, however, will also depend on the upgrades along the Adriatic railway, the company added.<\/p>\n
