A \u00a31.5 million investment will renew nearly 1.2km of track near Snelland, Lincolnshire to deliver smoother, more reliable journeys for passengers travelling between Lincoln and Cleethorpes.<\/p>\n
Passengers are advised that the work means buses will replace trains between Cleethorpes and Lincoln\/Barton-on-Humber on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.<\/p>\n
Snelland level crossing, on Station Road, will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 22.00 on Friday 16 October until 05.30 on Monday 19 October. A signed diversion route via the B1202, B1399 and A158 will be in place.<\/p>\n
The track renewal project will replace life-expired track components, reducing the need for maintenance and the chance of a temporary speed restriction being required in the future. Network Rail engineers will use nine engineering trains, road-rail vehicles and other specialist equipment to complete the work.<\/p>\n
Eric Larocque, Network Rail\u2019s East Midlands operations director, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re investing \u00a31.5 million to renew almost 1.2km of track near Snelland, replacing life-expired components and helping to deliver more reliable journeys for passengers.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re sorry for the disruption and thank passengers and local residents for their patience while we complete these important improvements.\u201d<\/p>\n
