Loco 452 only to be caught in major disruption which was a repeat of <strong>Sun 4th Oct <\/strong>chaos on the system on the <strong>UP <\/strong>!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Whist Earlier,  strangely V\/Line  was having issues with Geelong Line earlier in the morning!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Major delay &#8211; <\/strong>cancelling&#8221; the <strong>13:37 Southern Cross Service!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">On hearing the info I went to verify what I heard with station staff.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On speaking them at the moment there were problems on the track and  more info was to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Returning to platform it was confirmed via train crew &amp; staff the train and returning trip was cancelled and at  13:30 the info came out online on X and their website.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Service disruptions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>07\/10\/2026 &#8211; Northern Line Suspension<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7 Oct 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Line suspension &#8211; Bendigo line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UPDATE: 13:30<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coaches are replacing trains between Sunbury and Bendigo due to a train fault at Sunbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To Bendigo:<\/strong>&nbsp;Passengers are advised to board the next departing Metro train services between Southern Cross and Sunbury and then board replacement coaches between Sunbury and Bendigo to complete your journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To Southern Cross:&nbsp;<\/strong>Passengers are advised to board replacement coaches between Bendigo and Sunbury and then board the next departing Metro train services to Southern Cross via Footscray.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service alterations:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To Southern Cross:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 10:28 Bendigo &#8211; the operator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within less 2 hr on the coach trip, since the only stop was Kerang to pick up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I was aware due  my on  travelling requirements ie: Addressing the <strong><em>&#8220;call of nature&#8221;<\/em> <\/strong> often may impact others on board!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the WC was awkward unpleasant experience cramped way to move without bumping other people<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">In Consideration for fallow passengers I aborted the long trip to Southern Cross direct!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">At Kerang a short wait to get a stopping all stations coach to Bendigo and train from there if the Line suspension, it was lifted on <strong>16:31<\/strong>. It look I arrived as the line had resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>At Bendigo saw all the big line of people long the length of Platform.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Train services have resumed between Sunbury and Bendigo. etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From my observation a<strong> 3&#215;2 VLocity rail car,<\/strong> maybe required for this type of crowd but noticed the VL from the yard was 3&#215;1 and thought oh boy this going very crowded train!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Echuca Service<\/strong> was replace with coaches <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I managed to get on board within the big crowd  as lot of people were trying get on the 3 car VLocity,it filled very quickly I was lucky to get seat!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Had concerns some of the crowd was left behind at Bendigo to wait for the next service to Southern Cross.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A soon we pulled out settled in had belated lunch and we made our way Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> It was stopping all stations more people got on board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> some people stood in vestibule areas near door ways and some sat on the floor!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Did not get off until <strong>19:45 eta <\/strong>at <strong>Southern Cross<\/strong>, What a mess! <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Day 2 -While on VN17 elsewhere more track problems!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"><div fault at Southern Cross with delays of up to <strong>25 minutes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">If that wasn&#8217;t enough for the front line worse areas as when those sections suffers rail equipment issues it can impact several lines at once ie: Bendigo, Geelong and Ballarat Services in both directions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Major delay &#8211; Ballarat, Geelong and Bendigo Lines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UPDATE: 18:45<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Services are delayed&nbsp;at Wyndham Vale due to an earlier trespasser.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Services are delayed due to an earlier rail equipment fault at Sunshine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Passengers can also board the next departing services to complete your journey.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Observations:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">This has one the most chaotic days for their staff front line to endure as <strong>several major disruptions <\/strong>took place halting service in BOTH directions in<strong> the same day<\/strong> in the peak!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t understand,what on earth went wrong?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It bad enough for the frontline  when in consecutive days  major disruptions occurs on the system that suspends several lines that justifys all train service be halted!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">The two VLocity units involved the articles below were held due to train faults and they were disabled on route. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=536011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc\" title=\"Bendigo Line suspension during peak hour 10\/9\">https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=536011<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=565221\" title=\"Sun on the 4\/10- Day 1 Free Travel line suspended!\">https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=565221\">565221<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This often cause mass disruption of the queue of the other services moving up and down the line during that period causing services to terminated mid route in <strong>both<\/strong> direction!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they had rescue the failed VLocity or IMU and in some cases a clean up the impacted areas is required!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>One get a impression and feeling that it was at least 3 times the major disruptions halting train in both directions on several lines.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Including  the trespasser incident at Wyndham Vale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Conclusion:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>After getting caught the thick of a <strong>Major Disruption<\/strong> I can say what was supposed be a relaxing way to travel was soured due to fact that the coach are not suitable for everyone.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people including who travel via rail do it because you can tend to your own need without impacting others indirectly as often some people need several trip to address the call of nature in the WC!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some who has water work issues may drive other coach users nuts by going up and down the bus to access their very cramped WC at the back.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whist in the train one&#8217;s got more wriggle room to discreetly tend to their needs!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> It not nice to have dozen eye balls watching your every move down the cramped narrow passage way of a moving coach!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">That why a newly train rolled out train must be fit for purpose of <em>Regional Rail Travel<\/em> and user friendly for <strong>BOTH<\/strong> the staff  ie: Driver &amp; Conductors operating it &amp; for people travelling in it!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the newer trains passenger layout like a commuter bus layout as the seats are impractical to slide your bags under them as they so close together no surprise some people prefer plonk them on seat next to them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike the older regional classic fleet it was designed so people can slide their stuff under the seats and still stretch out &amp; relax on board unlike the bus-like commuter seat layout of the VLocity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Are the top people in charge Operating V\/Line as a <strong>Regional Inter City Train<\/strong> service <strong><em>OR<\/em><\/strong> are <strong>Suburban Metro Train<\/strong> service?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As For Front line must be commended as they were very helpful  under
