The Czech national rail freight operator \u010cD Cargo has managed to achieve a positive operating result in the first half of 2026. This follows a difficult financial year in 2025, when the operator made a loss of \u20ac155 million amid restructuring proceedings.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>\u010cD Cargo moved a total of 27.8 million tonnes of freight during the first six months of the year. That is \u201csignificantly higher than the company had planned\u201d, the operator said in a LinkedIn post. Around this time last year (Q3), \u010cD Cargo had transported approximately the same volume of freight.<\/p>\n

The higher volume immediately translates into a better financial position. “Higher transport volumes mean efficient use of \u010cD Cargo’s capacity, which has been reflected in a positive economic result”, explained Radim Je\u010dn\u00fd, Chairman of the Board of Directors of \u010cD Cargo.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the \u010cD Cargo Group reported a pre-tax profit of 385 million Czech crowns (around \u20ac16 million) in H1 2026. By comparison, it lost around \u20ac155 million in 2025. \u010cD Cargo adds that \u201cstreamlining efforts\u201d and a \u201cproactive business strategy\u201d contributed to its financial performance.<\/p>\n
