Poland\u2019s largest infrastructure project Port Polska (previously known as CPK) and the city of Kielce signed a letter of intent to develop an intermodal freight terminal in Obice. The site will cover 25 hectares. Potential destinations include the Benelux and the Baltic states, as well as Ukraine and Asia, Port Polska said.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>\u201cThe terminal may also be important for handling cargo in the eastern direction, including trade with Ukraine and transport on routes connecting Europe with Asia\u201d, the company added. The facility will be strategically located between Warsaw and Krak\u00f3w, the two Polish largest cities. However, it is not yet clear how long and how much it will take to build it.<\/p>\n

Port Polska\u2019s Centre for Transport and Mobility will work with the city of Kielce to analyse the impact of the investment on the current transport infrastructure. \u201cThe final model for the terminal’s implementation, its financing, and the schedule will be determined in subsequent stages, based on the results of the analyses.\u201d<\/p>\n
