Gippsland, including Traralgon and Bairnsdale, would receive five VLocity trains, adding 1110 seats in total. <\/p>\n\n\n

The same allocation would go to Seymour and Albury in the state\u2019s northeast, Echuca and Bendigo in northern Victoria, and Warrnambool and Geelong in the state\u2019s southwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another four trains would be allocated to western Victoria, including the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines, adding 888 seats overall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One VLocity set would also be retained as a network reserve for deployment where needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opposition Leader Jess Wilson said the additional trains would ensure all Victorians benefited from the overhaul of train services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement comes a day after the opposition pledged to introduce the state\u2019s first hybrid electric trains, designed to run on both regional and metropolitan tracks, to Melbourne\u2019s rapidly growing western suburbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
