The four engines assigned to Artemis III \u2014 E2054, E2057, E2048, and E2052 \u2014 previously powered multiple space shuttle missions. Engine 2048 helped launch NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik\u2019s earlier mission aboard space shuttle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission\/sts-129\/\">Atlantis<\/a> during STS\u2011129. It also flew on Space Shuttle Discovery during STS\u201195 in 1998, the mission that returned 77-year\u2011old space pioneer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/former-astronaut-john-h-glenn\/\">U.S. Sen.
