Australian data center firm GreenSquare is proposing a new Data Centre<\/a> facility at 44\u201376 Simcock Avenue in Spotswood, Melbourne. The MEL1 project could deliver 240MW of IT capacity across three stories, targeting a 2027 go-live date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massive Campus \u2013 MEL1 will offer 240MW of IT capacity across three stories, making it a significant addition to Melbourne\u2019s digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water-Smart Cooling \u2013 The site will use a closed-loop hybrid cooling system that recirculates water and operates water-free for most of the year, boosting sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic Location \u2013 Situated in an established industrial precinct with access to existing transport and digital infrastructure, the former petrochemical storage site is ripe for redevelopment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regulatory Progress \u2013 GreenSquare has filed an application with the Victoria Department of Transport and Planning, moving the project forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Company Momentum \u2013 Acquired by Swiss private equity firm Partners Group in March 2025, GreenSquare is also developing a former IBM site in Sydney after dropping its Perth project earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
