Northern<\/a> has announced that a minute\u2019s silence will be held at Manchester Victoria station on Wednesday (22 May), as staff and rail users pay tribute to the victims and survivors who continue to be affected by the Manchester Arena attack.<\/p>\n

The silence is set to be held during a special memorial service at 12pm, which will be led by Railway Chaplain, Mike Roberts.<\/p>\n

A second minute\u2019s silence will take place at 10.31pm to mark the moment of the attack.<\/p>\n

Craig Harrop, Regional Director for Northern in the North West, said: \u201cThe Manchester Arena attack has had a lasting impact on the station staff and customers at Manchester Victoria.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we mark the seventh anniversary of the attack, we remember the 22 victims and all those affected by what happened that night.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2022, a permanent memorial called The Glade of Light was unveiled between Manchester Cathedral and Chetham\u2019s School of Music to act as a focal point for remembrance in the city.<\/p>\n

At Manchester Victoria, an area near to Soldiers\u2019 Gate within the station has become a place where people can reflect and lay personal tributes.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
