In ancient folklore, the two volcanoes,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Jwpue5dq_wA?t=171\" rel=\"noopener\">Parinacota (left) and Pomerape (right)<\/a>, are connected by representing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qhapaqnan.qiri.cl\/ancient-legends\/\" rel=\"noopener\">mythical<\/a>\u00a0prince and princess who engaged in a forbidden romance. Beneath the ground, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/earth\/earth-observatory\/parinacota-volcano-south-america-76144\/\" rel=\"noopener\">two peaks<\/a>\u00a0are not known to be connected by a common pool of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap051002.html\" rel=\"noopener\">hot magma<\/a>, and neither volcano has erupted in the past 1000 years. Above the ground, there is usually nothing in the sky that connects them \u2014 except if you use careful timing and look from a specific location. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXpszcJCY6n\/\" rel=\"noopener\">featured well-planned image<\/a>\u00a0was captured from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bolivia\" rel=\"noopener\">Bolivia<\/a>\u00a0in mid-April with a series of camera exposures taken on the same day and from the same location.
