New premier Ben Carroll<\/strong> arrives for question time in parliament, and Opposition Leader Jess Wilson <\/strong>wastes no time in attacking his integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Only last month, [Ben Carroll] said: ‘I’ve got a young daughter at home and I couldn’t be more proud to make sure she grows up knowing I supported Jacinta Allan.’ How can Victorians possibly believe this premier can act with integrity when governing Victoria, when he can’t even be honest with his own daughter?” Ms Wilson says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

There are immediate calls for order from the speaker Maree Edwards<\/strong>, as MPs shout over the top of each other. After some back and forth, the question is allowed and Mr Carroll responds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A group of my colleagues approached me yesterday and [told] me that the premier had lost the support of the caucus. So there had been a change in circumstances,” he says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This brings about groans from Liberal MPs, and Ms Edwards calls for order. Ms Wilson repeats her question, bringing about a cacophony of noise from both sides of parliament. Member for Gippsland East Tim Bull<\/strong> is asked to leave the chamber for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think someone is a little upset over there,” Mr Carroll says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He says: “I think someone has realised the fresh start tour was the false start tour,” a reference to the campaign tour Ms Wilson has been making around Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
