{"id":4686,"date":"2024-01-24T08:36:34","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T22:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/?p=115122"},"modified":"2024-02-28T11:27:54","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T01:27:54","slug":"big-machinery-hits-the-tracks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=4686","title":{"rendered":"Big machinery hits the tracks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>12 new track maintenance machines are hard at work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queenslandrail.com.au\/\">Queensland Rail<\/a> network in a major $55 million investment in the reliability of the tracks.<\/strong><span id=\"more-115122\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The new machinery consists of six tamper machines and six ballast regulators, which enable the track alignment to be corrected and maintained, will improve the reliability of railway infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The new machines replace approximately half of the tamper \/ ballast regulator fleet that have reached the end of their working life.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Rail CEO Kat Stapleton explained the impressive machines have impressive outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em>The tamper machines smooth track by compacting ballast under and around the sleepers and correct track alignment at the same time.\u00a0 This ensures the track is aligned to its design parameters and provides a solid foundation for the track and a smoother ride,&#8221;
