ScotRail has been recognised as an industry leader for its approach to safeguarding, security, and public protection.<\/p>\n

The train operator scored 94 per cent in the latest Safer Railway Scheme assessment, carried out by British Transport Police and the Department for Transport.<\/p>\n

The assessment confirmed ScotRail operates at a consistently high standard with work to tackle violence against women and girls, suicide prevention, protecting the public, working with partners, and staff welfare.<\/p>\n

The accreditation coincides with Rail Safety Week, 15 \u2013 21 June, where ScotRail is asking customers to do their bit this summer and \u201ctravel well, travel safe\u201d.<\/p>\n

Customers are being reminded that small actions can make a big difference, particularly during the busy summer period when more people are travelling for days out, events, holidays, and evenings with friends and family<\/p>\n

As part of its ‘Fit for Summer’ campaign, ScotRail is asking people to plan ahead, drink sensibly, stay hydrated during hot weather, and ask for help if they feel unwell before boarding a train.<\/p>\n

Anyone who feels poorly at a station should speak to ScotRail staff or use a help point for assistance. It\u2019s easier to get help at a station than on board a moving train.<\/p>\n

Throughout Rail Safety Week, ScotRail is sharing safety advice across its stations, trains, and social media channels, alongside internal activity focused on supporting staff to stay fit, focused, and ready to help customers.<\/p>\n

Graeme Baillie, ScotRail safety & sustainability director, said: \u201cSafety is at the heart of everything we do, and we\u2019re proud to have been recognised through the Safer Railway Scheme assessment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have strong partnerships with British Transport Police, Network Rail, and others across Scotland\u2019s Railway to keep people safe, and customers have a role to play too.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether it\u2019s drinking sensibly, staying hydrated, or asking for help if you feel unwell, small actions can help keep everyone safe.<\/p>\n
