The Minority University Research and Education Project Space Technology Artemis Research (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/learning-resources\/minority-university-research-education-project\/murep-research-infrastructure-and-capacity-building\/#space\">M\u2011STAR<\/a>) application window opened Thursday and will remain open through 11:59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Aug. 11.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The research funded through this award supports the agency\u2019s priorities for exploring the Moon, Mars, and deep space, while strengthening eligible institutions in the future of space exploration. Through M-STAR, institutions are encouraged to grow their scientific and engineering capabilities, enhance faculty and student engagement in aerospace research, and expand their ability to compete for future federal and commercial research awards.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Administered by NASA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/stem.nasa.gov\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Office of STEM Engagement<\/a>, this initiative contributes to NASA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/space-technology-mission-directorate\/\">Space Technology Mission Directorate<\/a>, and supports the agency\u2019s broader mission to develop innovative technologies that improve space transportation, human exploration, robotic discovery, and the growing space economy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>NASA\u2019s Office of STEM Engagement fosters an ecosystem across education, industry, and government to cultivate a well\u2011prepared talent pool, while the agency\u2019s Space Technology Mission Directorate develops the transformative space technologies that enable future NASA missions and ensure U.S. leadership in aerospace.
