Staff assaults fell by 11%, despite a 24% increase across the wider rail industry, reflecting the impact of a coordinated, system-wide response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developed in partnership with Network Rail High Speed and the British Transport Police, the Workplace Violence Reduction Strategy has focused on prevention, protection and stronger enforcement. Measures include joint patrols, enhanced training for frontline teams and improved processes to support prosecutions. Data-led targeting of repeat incidents has also strengthened the response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These actions are already delivering tangible results, with lost time injuries linked to assaults down by 75%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wider safety indicators also improved, with workforce incidents falling from 78 to 70 over the year. Passenger safety saw further gains, with injuries down 31% and no major reportable incidents recorded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Station performance remained consistently strong, with all four stations achieving asset availability of 99% or higher. Lifts, escalators, and travelators met availability targets for the first time in several years, an important step forward following more challenging performance in recent periods, and a key factor in improving the passenger experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Across the network, underlying operational performance remained good. Performance targets were achieved in most periods and average delays of less than 10 seconds per train were achieved over the year, supporting a stable service for operators and passengers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While overall performance remained strong, a small number of significant incidents, led to a higher level of delays than the previous year. However, performance remained within regulatory thresholds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report also highlights a step change in renewals activity as part of the new Control Period. A greater volume of work has been delivered to maintain and strengthen the network, supporting long-term reliability and preparing the railway for future demand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Market rate increases and supplier capacity remain the principal uncertainty for the remainder of CP4, reflecting wider pressures across the UK infrastructure sector. These are being managed within existing funding levels, ensuring investment remains focused on the most critical assets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">London St. Pancras Highspeed also continues to make progress in improving asset management capability. The rollout of a new Enterprise Asset Management System is strengthening how assets are tracked, monitored and maintained, laying the foundations for more efficient and proactive management.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joanne Parkes, head of asset management at London St. Pancras Highspeed said: \u201cThis year\u2019s results show clear progress where it matters most. We\u2019ve delivered meaningful improvements in safety, with fewer incidents affecting our staff, while maintaining a reliable day-to-day service across the network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are stepping up investment in the railway to strengthen long-term resilience and ensure the network is ready for growing demand. That means a more dependable experience for passengers and operators alike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile we continue to see cost pressures across the sector, we are managing these carefully, improving how we maintain and renew our assets, and building the foundations for a more efficient, high-performing railway in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">London St. Pancras Highspeed will continue to focus on maintaining reliable day-to-day performance while delivering its long-term investment programme.
