In 2024, it secured licenses to operate in Latvia and Estonia, thereby expanding its scope of operations to the entire Baltic region.

International expansion has been a key strategic objective not only for LTG Cargo, but also for their Latvian counterparts at LDz Cargo. The loss of freight from Russia following the introduction of sanctions has forced the companies to look elsewhere for business.

Currently, LTG Cargo’s Polish subsidiary employs 130 people. It has a fleet of over 350 standard-gauge wagons and 20 locomotives.

LTG Cargo: ‘Expanding to more European countries is in our plans’

The Lithuanian national rail freight operator LTG Cargo has been certified for rail freight operations in Germany through its subsidiary LTG Cargo Polska.
