The <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/us-air-force\/\">Air Force<\/a> is seeking permission to divest around 250 aircraft, which <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/us-air-force-fleet-shrinking-or-growing\/\">will shrink the Air Force fleet to below 5,000 aircraft<\/a>. Notably, the Air Force is seeking to retire 32 non-combat-worthy F-22 Raptors. As these are America&#8217;s most advanced air superiority <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/fighter-jets\/\">fighters<\/a> and are only available in limited numbers, this was always a contentious move. However, to no one&#8217;s surprise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/house-bill-block-f-22-201151541.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >Yahoo!
