RSSB has launched a new training course to help rail professionals better understand the digital systems that are increasingly central to modern rolling stock.<\/p>\n

The Introduction to Rolling Stock Digital Systems course gives a clear overview of technologies such as onboard software, telecommunications networks, and cyber security, and highlights how they support the design, operation, and upgrade of trains.<\/p>\n

Trains are becoming more connected, but many professionals are working with digital systems without a specialist background. This course helps close that gap, giving delegates insight into how these technologies work and how they can influence their engineering decisions.<\/p>\n

Delegates will be provided with an overview of how digital systems can be assessed in line with industry standards, how they can identify potential cyber risks early in a project, and recognise when specialist expertise is necessary.<\/p>\n

The two-day course will be delivered face-to-face. Aimed at engineers, IT professionals new to rail, and those involved in procuring or upgrading trains, Introduction to Rolling Stock Digital Systems combines practical insight, technical knowledge and industry expertise to support safer, more effective decision-making.<\/p>\n

Darren Fitzgerald, RSSB\u2019s head of electrotechnical and digital Systems, said: \u2019Digital systems are now central to how trains are designed, operated and maintained. This course helps demystify those systems and gives rail professionals the understanding they need to make informed decisions about engineering change and risk.\u2019<\/p>\n
