KiwiRail is promising to move as quickly as possible to resolve track vibration issues for\u00a0Wairarapa Connection train commuters, as people have faced months of delays and disruptions.<\/p>\n
The brand new train tracks signed off by\u00a0KiwiRail\u00a0needed to be remedied, after revelations\u00a0parts of the track had been effectively laid too narrow for the carriages that use them, whilst still being within KiwiRail\u2019s normal engineering tolerances. The\u00a0Greater Wellington regional council\u00a0had confirmed tracks covering around 16km around South Featherston had been laid 4mm narrower on average.<\/p>\n
