crowded the platforms and trains were halted on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities evacuated passengers on underground platforms 24 and 25 on the T4 Eastern suburbs and Illawarra line following a bomb threat from an anonymous caller about 2.20pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s understood the unknown caller alerted police to a bomb on a train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police Transport Command immediately commencing inquiries, according to The Daily Telegraph.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Footage from inside the bustling train station showed travellers scrambling to escape the underground platforms via a single escalator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile multiple police officers corned off sections of the major station, as they directed passengers away from the platform where a train stood stationary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, nothing was located after a thorough search of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The train was subsequently cleared at about 2.45pm, with normal services resuming on platform shortly before 3pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers from the Police Transport Command unit have now commenced inquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSW Police were contacted for further incident as it unfolded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAllow extra travel time on some services due to an incident requiring emergency services at Central earlier,\u201d it said via a post on X, formally Twitter, about 2:44pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSend us a message if you need help travelling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Central station is one Australia&#8217;s largest and busiest railway stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It serves as a major&nbsp;transport interchange&nbsp;for&nbsp;rail, bus and private coach services in NSW.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday&#8217;s scare at the hub was one of multiple bomb threats made in recent weeks regarding the transport network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSW Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inquiries remain
