Credit: RSSB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Iain is an experienced chair and non-executive director with more than 40 years\u2019 experience operating at Board level in complex infrastructure sectors, including transport, energy, water, and defence. Earlier in his career, he was group finance director of FirstGroup, the UK bus and rail operator, before going on to hold a range of senior executive and non executive roles. He brings extensive experience in financial governance, audit, risk, and strategic oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, RSSB Chair Chris Burchell said: &#8220;Iain brings deep audit and risk expertise alongside first hand experience of the transport sector. That combination will be particularly valuable as RSSB continues to support the railway through evidence based advice, assurance, and strong governance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Iain Lanaghan said: &#8220;I am pleased to be joining the RSSB Board and to take on the role of Chair of the Audit &amp; Risk Committee.
